S/Sgt Archie "Tater" Snow
This is the helmet of Staff Sergeant Archie Snow, who was killed in action by a sniper near Mortain, France on August 7, 1944. You can see the hole from the bullet in the front of the helmet. The helmet is on the left in the photo and the fiber liner is on the right. The helmet is currently on its way from a collector in France back to Archie's family.
The photo at left has been identified as S/Sgt Snow by a veteran. The photo at right may also be of S/Sgt Snow. Both photos are from Ray Dyer's collection.

Hedgerow where S/Sgt Snow was killed. Taken August, 2006
