K RATION CRATES

These crates were professionally made by our squad carpenter. Boards were planed down to match the original thickness of wood used in the 1940s. The only difference between original K ration boxes and our reproductions is we've modified the top to be removed so reenactors can store gear in them and hide their modern items--The original crates lids didn't have stringers across.

K ration crates were originally designed to be cheap and disposable. Not many survived the war because they were used for firewood, signage, and to reinforce foxhole walls. Here's an opportunity to add one to your display!

The lettering was applied just like the originals using silk screening, not a template.

The top has nail heads embedded so when it's closed it looks authentic

The underside of the lid is reinforced so it won't warp
